skirt pattern corrections
Just a heads up about the skirt pattern in Stitch Magazine. If you are going to make it, double check the length of the facing against the skirt waistband length. Someone alerted me to the fact that the facing waistband length is shorter than the skirt. I haven’t had a chance to check all sizes, but it is smaller in the size small skirt.
Interweave will post the corrections on their website, but I wanted to give you a heads up here as well.
If you are making the skirt before they get the corrections up, all you need to do is add length to the facing so that the waist length on the facing matches the waist length on the skirt.
I’m not sure how this happened as it’s not the case in the original pattern, but it’s completely stressing me out. Hopefully this hasn’t caused anyone too much grief.
If you are celebrating I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I was just tracing the pattern for the tulip skirt and I’m pretty sure the pattern pieces are mislabeled; the part labeled “front” has a center fold marking and the part labeled “back” has a center front marking. It got a bit confusing because I was seeing lines in all the wrong places.
I’m sorry to hear it’s stressing you out.

This skirt is so lovely, I can’t wait to make it. Thanks for the corrections. Don’t stress. Us sewers are resourceful and will figure it out! :]

don’t worry, i guess it was all about fabric. probably it was a little bit stretchy, than the one you worked with. my mom and me - we always fix it in the middle with any new skirt (figure and fabric can change a lot). and your skirt is lovely! i sent its photo to my mom and she was exited about it too!

Please don’t stress about it! In case I don’t win the skirt in the cover photo (ha-ha!) I will sew up my version and I will let Stitch know if I’m having any complications. They can always post any corrected pattern pieces on their site via PDF if there are any major issues, like they have posted two of the skirt patterns online.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I don’t think its just your pattern, the tulip skirt seems to have all kinds of wacky things with it as well (mislabled pieces, notches that dont match), I’m really not impressed with Interweave press (especially since they haven’t even posted corrections for those yet)
